Donald Trump has appointed former Attorney General Pam Bondi to a White House advisory committee focused on artificial intelligence, according to Axios.
The move comes weeks after Trump dismissed Bondi from the Justice Department in early April. Her tenure as attorney general drew sharp criticism over how her office handled the case of Jeffrey Epstein, the financier convicted of crimes against minors.
Bondi, who previously served as Florida’s attorney general, has long been part of Trump’s inner circle. She was part of his legal defence team during his Senate impeachment trial and later joined the group of lawyers who led the legal challenge to Joe Biden’s election victory.
The scope of her role on the AI committee was not detailed in the report.
