Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a package of road development works in Nad Al Sheba 3, covering the paving of two kilometres of internal roads, the application of road markings, the provision of parking spaces, the installation of 50 lighting units, and the placement of directional traffic signs.
The works are expected to reduce delay times in the area by up to 35 per cent.
The completed works form part of a plan for the development of internal roads across Nad Al Sheba 3 and 4. The plan includes road paving, the construction of traffic links, the allocation of dedicated cycling and pedestrian tracks, and the provision of parking to serve residents. The project is expected to reach full completion in the first quarter of 2027.
The RTA said the works support its efforts to enhance the efficiency of infrastructure across the Emirate of Dubai to meet the demands of urban development and population growth, and to improve traffic flow and road safety for road users.
RTA upgrades roads around Kings’ School in Nad Al Sheba 3 to improve school-run safety
Works included the paving of roads surrounding Kings’ School in Nad Al Sheba 3, namely Street 60, Street 62, Street 63, and Street 65. The works also included the installation of directional signage, the application of road markings, and the implementation of traffic-calming measures in accordance with approved technical specifications.
The measures are intended to enhance road safety for school users and nearby residents, ensure traffic flow, and facilitate vehicle entry and exit during student drop-off and pick-up periods.
Nad Al Sheba continues to see infrastructure development in line with urban expansion and the growth of residential communities, as well as service and educational facilities. The area’s population has exceeded 30,000 residents.
The area holds a location in proximity to several corridors in the emirate, including Dubai–Al Ain Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, making it a link between multiple areas of Dubai.
The RTA said the project contributes to enhancing traffic flow and facilitating access to nearby schools and key community facilities, thereby improving the quality of mobility for residents in the area and across Dubai. The authority added that its infrastructure work supports an improved quality of life and provides soft mobility options for residents and visitors of the emirate.
