Salik, Dubai’s toll gate operator, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) to deploy access control and parking management systems across three of the city’s free zones.

The agreement covers Dubai Airport Freezone, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Dubai CommerCity, and targets more than 21,000 parking spaces distributed across the three economic zones.

The two entities say they will assess opportunities for technical integration between their respective platforms to improve traffic flow, space utilisation, and access control under unified standards.

For Salik, the deal represents a deliberate push beyond its core toll collection business.

“This agreement reflects Salik’s strategic ambition to expand its role as an integrated mobility solutions provider, leveraging partnerships to deliver enhanced operational outcomes. Through our collaboration with DIEZ, we aim to unlock new opportunities that support smoother vehicle movement and improve efficiency across free zones. This initiative also marks the launch of a new smart mobility vertical for Salik, reinforcing our contribution to Dubai’s vision for intelligent, connected infrastructure,” Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, Chief Executive Officer of Salik said in a statement.

“Our collaboration with Salik reflects DIEZ’s ongoing commitment to adopting advanced digital solutions and forging strategic partnerships that contribute to delivering more efficient and seamless services for businesses operating within our economic zones. This partnership aligns with our vision of building an integrated business environment driven by innovation and advanced technologies, while supporting the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and reinforcing the emirate’s competitiveness and attractiveness as a global hub for business and investment,” Eng. Muammar Al Katheeri, Chief Officer of Engineering and Sustainability at Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) added.

The MoU does not specify a timeline for implementation, but both parties say planned deployments will mark the formal launch of Salik’s new mobility solutions vertical.
