Oil prices edged lower in early Asian trading, giving back some of the previous session’s gains as markets reopened.
Brent crude futures fell 25 cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $89.45 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate dropped 22 cents, also 0.3 per cent, to $83.31 a barrel.
Both benchmarks are on track to close the week in the red. Brent is down 5.3 per cent over the week, while WTI has shed 4.3 per cent.
