Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is travelling to Washington for his eighth meeting with Donald Trump since the US president began his second term, more than any other international leader has met with Trump in the same period, according to a post on Netanyahu’s official X account.
Writing in Hebrew, Netanyahu said Iran would be the primary subject of discussions, alongside what he described as Israel’s security, its regional standing, and expanding the “circle of peace.”
Netanyahu framed the frequency of the meetings as both an honour and a responsibility. “Our goal is clear: to safeguard Israel’s security, strengthen its power, and expand the circle of peace around us,” he wrote.
The prime minister also said he would pay respects to Senator Lindsey Graham during the visit, describing the Republican senator as “one of Israel’s greatest friends of all time.” Graham, a long-standing supporter of Israel in Congress, has been among the most vocal US legislators backing Israeli policy positions.
