Capital.com has named Mamoon Sbeih as its Chief Strategy Officer, tasking him with leading corporate strategy, government relations, and communications as the online trading platform pursues expansion into new markets and jurisdictions.
Sbeih brings 27 years of experience in strategic communications across the Middle East and North Africa. He spent close to a decade at the World Bank as an External Affairs and Aid Coordination Officer before joining BCW in the UAE in 2003. He moved to APCO in 2006, rising through the ranks to Managing Director of MENA, then Regional President from 2017, and most recently Chief International Business Development Officer and MENA Chairman.
Viktor Prokopenya, founder of Capital.com, pointed to Sbeih’s depth in regional public affairs as the driver behind the hire. “Mamoon spent two decades building APCO’s business across the Middle East. He was Regional President and a widely known figure in regional government relations. That combination of public affairs and strategic communication experience is exactly what we need as Capital.com expands into new markets and jurisdictions.”
Sbeih described the platform’s approach as structurally distinct from conventional trading products. “Capital.com is building something structurally different. It’s a platform designed around better decisions, not faster ones. Having spent my career helping governments and global businesses navigate complexity and communicate with precision, I’m looking forward to bringing that same discipline to how we tell Capital.com’s story as we grow.”
