Bolt has launched in Abu Dhabi through its partnership with Dubai Taxi Company, beginning with limousine services and targeting taxi coverage within weeks. The move follows a 24% rise in e-hailing activity for DTC in 2025 and a further 9% gain in Q1 2026.

Key points

  • Bolt has launched limousine ride-hailing services in Abu Dhabi
  • DTC reported 24% e-hailing growth in 2025, 9% more in Q1 2026
  • 1,823 National Taxi vehicles joined the Bolt platform in Dubai this year

Bolt has arrived in Abu Dhabi, with Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) confirming the expansion of their strategic partnership beyond Dubai for the first time. Residents and visitors in the capital can now book limousine rides through the Bolt app, with taxi services set to follow in the coming weeks.

The move comes off the back of growing traction in Dubai. DTC recorded a 24 per cent year-on-year increase in e-hailing activity across its taxi and limousine segments in 2025, with the first quarter of 2026 adding a further 9 per cent rise on the same period last year. During Q1 2026, 1,823 National Taxi vehicles were integrated into the Bolt platform in Dubai.

“Abu Dhabi is a natural next step for Bolt in the UAE. We have seen exceptional demand for reliable, app-based mobility, and this milestone gives residents and visitors in the capital access to a service that is fast, convenient, and built around their needs. We are proud to be on this journey alongside our partners at DTC, and we look forward to continuing to grow our presence across the UAE,” Vasilis Hadjiaslanis, General Manager of Bolt UAE said in a statement.

Bolt, which entered the UAE through its DTC partnership, competes in a market that includes Careem and Uber. The Abu Dhabi launch broadens its fleet network across the country, drawing on what the company described as a large pool of fleet owners, drivers, and vehicles already operating under the partnership.
