Binance has announced a partnership with STOP THE TRAFFIK, a global non-profit working to prevent human trafficking through intelligence sharing and cross-sector collaboration. The exchange says it is the first crypto company to partner with the organisation.
Under the agreement, Binance will receive access to specialised intelligence resources, expert training, and insight into emerging typologies linked to trafficking and exploitation. The collaboration is intended to sharpen Binance’s internal detection capabilities and feed into its broader compliance and investigations work.
The announcement arrives against a stark backdrop. Over 49.6 million people are estimated to be living in conditions of modern slavery, and the figure is likely understated. According to the Nasdaq 2026 Global Financial Crime Report, human trafficking generated an estimated $528.5 billion in illicit proceeds in 2025, a rise of 23.5 per cent between 2023 and 2025.
“Financial crime prevention must continue to evolve to address the real-world harms that intersect with illicit finance, including human trafficking and related exploitation. Our partnership with STOP THE TRAFFIK will help strengthen our understanding of these threats and enhance our ability to contribute meaningfully to efforts that protect vulnerable communities. Collaboration across sectors is essential to identifying and disrupting these abuses, which is a pressing issue globally,” Noah Perlman, Chief Compliance Officer of Binance said in a statement.
“Human traffickers use a cynical business model to exploit their fellow human beings. This business model depends on financial systems to launder their money so they can enjoy their ill-gotten gains. We know that traffickers are increasingly using cryptocurrency to try and stay one step ahead of investigators, which is why this partnership with Binance is so important. We should never forget that behind every piece of intelligence we provide, there is a unique story of harm, of hopes and dreams destroyed. By providing this intelligence, we can help target traffickers’ finances, disrupt their operations, and reduce the harm they inflict on millions of individuals globally,” Nick Dale, STOP THE TRAFFIK’s Director of Intelligence and Prevention added.
The partnership extends Binance’s existing law enforcement cooperation. The exchange says it has responded to more than 313,000 law enforcement requests and that funds recovered or frozen by authorities with Binance’s support have surpassed $1 billion.
In 2025, it also assisted in the takedown of Kidflix, which authorities described as the largest child exploitation platform ever dismantled.
