Dubai Retail, a malls and retail destinations group under Dubai Holding Asset Management and among the region’s operators by scale, has announced plans to launch The Yard, the first retail and lifestyle destination at Palm Jebel Ali.
The project will expand Dubai Retail’s portfolio to 57 malls and lifestyle destinations across Dubai and increase its presence in areas of the emirate where residential development is under way.
The Yard is scheduled to open in 2027 and will serve residents of Palm Jebel Ali and surrounding communities as development of the waterfront area progresses.
Waitrose, American Hospital, Piccoli, Jumeirah International Nursery, Bateel Café and Friends Avenue are among confirmed brands
The destination will bring retail, dining, services, wellness, healthcare and spaces for social activity into one location, with the aim of meeting day-to-day requirements for residents.
The Yard will span about 70,000 square feet of gross leasable area and will include 26 concepts across retail, dining, wellness and healthcare.
Dubai Retail expects the destination to serve about 20,000 residents across surrounding communities. Brands confirmed for the project include Waitrose, American Hospital, Piccoli, Jumeirah International Nursery, Bateel Café and Friends Avenue.
The mix will provide grocery, healthcare, childcare, dining and other services for residents and visitors.
The development has been designed around its waterfront location and will include open terraces and communal spaces where visitors can meet, dine and spend time by the water.
The Yard will also have links to a waterfront promenade and open spaces in the surrounding area, creating a location for dining and social activity within the community.
McLaren Construction L.L.C. is the main contractor for The Yard and will lead construction and project delivery.
Dubai Retail said the project forms part of its portfolio of destinations and landmarks across Dubai and its role in providing retail and lifestyle facilities as the emirate expands.
The company said the launch of The Yard will increase its footprint across Dubai while supporting the emirate’s plans for communities with access to services, links between neighbourhood spaces, a focus on sustainability and measures aimed at improving residents’ quality of life.
