Majid Al Futtaim, a developer of shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure destinations across the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia, has awarded the main construction contract for its residential project Distrikt Ghaf Woods to Al Sahel Contracting, a company within the Al Nabooda Group.
The contract, valued at over AED 700 million, marks what the developer describes as a milestone in the project’s advancement. Construction commenced on 13 April 2026, with works now under way across the Distrikt Ghaf Woods site.

Al Sahel Contracting was selected following what Majid Al Futtaim described as a highly competitive tender process. The appointment was based on the firm’s technical capability, delivery track record, and alignment with the developer’s quality standards. Al Sahel brings experience in large-scale residential and mixed-use developments across the UAE.

Distrikt Ghaf Woods is Majid Al Futtaim’s latest residential community in Dubai. The development is designed around the principles of nature-integrated living, wellbeing, and long-term value creation, and takes its inspiration from the Ghaf tree, an indigenous species known for its resilience. The project offers residents green spaces and connectivity to urban amenities.
The contract award comes as Dubai continues to attract demand from both local and international investors. Majid Al Futtaim said the development reflects continued demand for communities in the emirate, and that the contract accelerates project delivery.
