Trump warns Iran of unprecedented military response over Hormuz mining threat
US President Donald Trump demanded the immediate removal of any mines placed in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that failure to do so would result in military consequences “at a level never seen before” via a post on Truth Social.
While stating the US has no current reports of mines being laid, Trump said any vessel attempting to mine the strait would be “dealt with quickly and violently” using the same technology and missile capabilities deployed against drug traffickers.
He added that removing any mines already placed would be “a giant step in the right direction.”
“I am pleased to report that within the last few hours, we have hit, and completely destroyed, 10 inactive mine laying boats and/or ships, with more to follow! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” he added.
