Cairo-based jewellery designer Jude Benhalim has achieved a significant milestone with her handcrafted pieces featuring prominently in Season 5 of the globally beloved Netflix series Emily in Paris, which premiered on December 18, 2024.
Lead actress Lily Collins, who plays protagonist Emily Cooper, wore multiple pieces from Benhalim’s collection throughout the season as the show’s action shifted from Paris to Rome and Venice.
According to Benhalim’s official Instagram statement, the designer’s work brought “refined, artistic edge to the show’s already iconic style,” with the pieces described as “sculptural, expressive, and made to feel effortless on screen and beyond.”
Jewellery pieces featured in the series
Multiple signature pieces from Jude Benhalim‘s collections appeared across various episodes of Season 5. These included the brand’s bestselling Mini Harmonia earrings, the refined Elara earrings, Gemino earrings, Mini Gemino earrings, and matching rings crafted in sterling silver and gold-plated brass.
The jewellery selections complemented Emily Cooper’s evolved aesthetic as she navigates life in Italy, with costume designer Marylin Fitoussi deliberately choosing independent and emerging jewellery brands alongside major luxury houses to showcase diverse creative voices.
“The brand’s pieces were carefully selected to elevate each look while maintaining an effortless presence,” according to styling documentation from Season 5.
Who is Jude Benhalim?
Jude Benhalim launched her namesake jewellery brand at just 17 years old in 2011, with the brand formally established in 2015 alongside her mother, Rana El Azm. The Egyptian designer studied film at the American University in Cairo and combines her artistic vision with her mother’s business acumen to create pieces that bridge East and West aesthetics.
The brand operates from a workshop in Cairo where all pieces are handcrafted using sustainable materials, including recycled 925 sterling silver and brass dipped in 24-karat gold. Each collection features custom-made resin stones that are individually dyed and finished, ensuring no two pieces are identical.
Benhalim’s design philosophy emphasizes bold, sculptural forms inspired by art, architecture, and personal narratives of empowerment. The collections are designed to be interchangeable and multi-wear, encouraging wearers to layer and reinterpret pieces over time rather than follow seasonal trends.
The brand has garnered significant international acclaim, worn by celebrities including Kendall Jenner, Halle Berry, Chrissy Teigen, and Adriana Lima. In 2023, Jude Benhalim was recognized as one of Forbes Middle East’s “30 Under 30” in the Commerce & Finance category.
This is not Jude Benhalim’s first appearance on “Emily in Paris.” Her pieces were previously featured in Season 4, where Lily Collins wore the Ripple Ring in gold. The continued collaboration highlights the show’s commitment to championing independent designers from around the world.
Costume designer Marylin Fitoussi has publicly stated her intention to collaborate with emerging jewellery brands across seasons, believing these partnerships provide important platforms for independent designers while enriching the show’s aesthetic authenticity.
