The UAE Artificial Intelligence Office has partnered with Google to give university students free access to Google AI Plus for twelve months, covering the Gemini app, AI-assisted research tools, image and video generation, and 400 GB of storage.
Students aged 18 and older who are enrolled at UAE universities can register at goo.gle/studentoffer26-uae at no cost, provided they sign up before 31 December 2026. The offer extends this year to a wider pool of students across the Arab world, building on strong uptake from a similar initiative run last year.
The Google AI Plus plan includes the Gemini Notebook feature, which lets students interact directly with academic materials, generate summaries, and access audio content derived from their sources. It also includes tools to organise references and prepare research outputs.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, said the next phase of AI adoption requires students to move beyond simply using tools and toward a deeper understanding of how to deploy them responsibly in learning and research. “Empowering students with the latest models and tools, and developing their skills in using them, fosters a culture of continuous learning, exploration, and innovation,” he said.
Alongside the product access, the AI Office and Google plan to run a series of virtual and in-person training sessions for university students, focusing on how to use Gemini and Gemini Notebook effectively and responsibly.
The programme sits within the “AI for All” initiative the AI Office launched with Google in 2024, which is aimed at broadening access to AI capabilities, building relevant skills, and supporting research and application development across different segments of society.
