The Petshop has launched Aura Veterinary Center in Dubai Investment Park, adding veterinary medicine to a portfolio that already covers pet nutrition, grooming, boarding, daycare, and aquatics.
The clinic is built around Fear Free principles, an internationally recognised framework developed by veterinary behaviourists that seeks to reduce stress during examination. The rationale is clinical: a stressed animal produces elevated heart rate and blood pressure, which can compromise diagnostic readings. To mitigate this, every staff member at Aura holds individual Fear Free certification. The physical layout reinforces the approach, with a dedicated cat-friendly waiting area, separate dog enclosures, and distinct recovery wards by species.
Beyond routine consultations, Aura is positioned as a referral destination for minimally invasive surgery, supported by post-operative care.
“Pets are family, and the families we serve deserve a standard of care that reflects that. For too long, veterinary care in this region has been largely reactive. Pets come in when something is wrong. Aura is built around a different philosophy entirely: one that places prevention, early diagnosis, calmer handling, and clinical excellence at the center of the experience. Aura has been developed by The Petshop as a natural next step in completing the ecosystem we have been building for pet families across the UAE: nutrition, grooming, relocation, daycare, boarding, aquatics, expert retail advice, digital convenience through our super app, and now clinical veterinary care. This is the beginning of a studied journey to create and develop a connected ecosystem for pet care, where everyday needs and medical needs finally sit within one trusted network,” Amr Hazem Youssef, CEO of The Petshop said.
“That is what “Where Science Meets Wellness” means in practice. A clinic that keeps pets calmer, catches problems earlier, operates at the highest surgical standard. Our ambition is to raise the bar for what pet families in this region can expect from veterinary medicine, with plans to expand Aura with a second branch within the same quarter of the year, so this standard of care can reach more families across the UAE,” he added.
A recurring wellness membership, the Wellness Club, will offer educational content and monthly expert-led workshops at the clinic.
The company says it plans to open a second Aura branch within the same quarter. The Petshop cites figures from the UAE market suggesting there are 1.5 million pet owners and more than 2 million pets nationally, describing it as the largest pet care market in the Gulf.
