Dubai radio presenter Kris Fade has said he received an email from his daughters’ school stating that they would be suspended from attending school for three days if fees were not paid by a set date.
In an Instagram post shared from his account @krisfade, Fade said he had already paid fees for terms one and two, and that the matter related to term three, “which we’re in now”.
“This post isn’t about avoiding responsibility or creating conflict,” he wrote. “Schools have policies, and I respect that.”
Kris Fade says school fee email threatened three-day suspension for daughters
Fade said his concern was about how the message was communicated to parents and the effect it could have on children.
“But sometimes, especially in the world we’re living in right now, empathy and human conversation can go a long way,” he wrote. “A phone call. A discussion. A moment of understanding before sending an email that impacts children emotionally.”
He added that parents are managing work, family and responsibilities while trying to meet their obligations.
“As parents, we’re all doing our best navigating life, work, family, and responsibilities,” Fade wrote. “I just believe communication should always lead with humanity first.”
Fade said the post was not intended to create dispute, but to start a conversation about how schools communicate with families over fee deadlines.
“That’s all this conversation is about,” he wrote. “And if you’re a parent struggling atm (at the moment), you’re not alone, I promise you that.”
