Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has reviewed a UAE government project to deploy agentic AI across half of all federal sectors and services within two years, with the systems designed to execute tasks and make decisions without human intervention.
The briefing, attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, was led by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, who told Sheikh Mohammed his team had begun identifying the requirements and mechanisms needed to deliver the 50 per cent target.
The project is being implemented under the supervision of Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
“In a rapidly evolving world, the UAE Government has chosen to lead the shift towards integrating AI into its daily work, a government that operates and serves people around the clock. AI now helps design programmes and policies, develop solutions, deliver services, and support decision making, ensuring the highest quality of service. Our teams are leading this national transformation. Their ability to work with future technologies is key to our success. Our ambitions are boundless, and the road ahead demands even greater determination worthy of the UAE’s name,” Sheikh Mohammed said in a statement.
The framework is built around integrated federal data and advanced digital infrastructure, which officials say will speed up service delivery, streamline procedures, and improve the accuracy of government decisions. Building national AI capabilities is also named as a core objective.
Sheikh Mohammed described AI integration as a strategic priority for the next phase of the UAE’s development, in line with the direction set by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Also present at the briefing were Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), and Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; along with a number of senior officials at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.
