Apple plans to release a beta for developers of a redesigned version of its voice assistant, known inside the company as “Siri 2.0”, as part of the iOS 26.4 update.
The system runs on Apple Foundation Model v10, which contains 1.2 trillion parameters. The model was developed through a partnership with Google.
Siri 2.0 to access messages, calendar and photos
The updated assistant introduces what Apple calls “smart agent” functions, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency (WAM). These allow the system to carry out tasks by processing user context. The assistant can access data from messages, calendars and photos under secure conditions.
Using this access, Siri can complete actions that involve several steps. These include locating a document and sending it to a contact through an app from another company.
The beta for developers is expected during the week of February 23. A beta for the public is planned for March. Apple aims to release the update to users in late March or early April 2026.
