Zeekr held a track day at Yas Marina Circuit on June 29, marking five years since the brand’s 2021 launch with an event that gave its UAE owner community a first look at the 9X, its new full-size flagship SUV.

More than 200 owners, alongside media and brand partners, spent the day on the Grand Prix layout, moving through three activity zones that included circuit laps in the 9X and 7X, drag strip runs against a field of supercars, and drift ride-alongs with a professional driver. The day closed with a convoy lap of the full circuit in parade formation, followed by dinner at the venue.

The 9X is positioned as the brand’s most technically ambitious vehicle to date. Zeekr describes it as the world’s first luxury super-hybrid built on a pure electric platform.

It produces more than 1,400 hp across three electric motors, offers a combined range of more than 1,250 km, and charges from 20 to 80 per cent in around nine minutes. The drag strip runs at Yas put those numbers into context, with the full-size SUV lining up against dedicated performance cars.

Inside, the 9X runs Zeekr AI OS across a 16-inch central touchscreen and a matching front-passenger display, with voice-command capability throughout the cabin.

The company calls its driver-assistance suite capable of reading city traffic and long-distance driving conditions through a full array of cameras and radars. The interior uses Nappa leather, natural solid wood, and a suede headliner. A Naim Signature 32-speaker system handles audio. Seating extends across three full rows, with what Zeekr calls Floating Cloud seats offering zero-gravity, recliner, swivel, and massage modes.

Nicole Huang, Head of User Operations at Zeekr, said the day was a deliberate choice for the milestone. “Five years in, having more than 200 owners with us at Yas Marina Circuit says everything about the strength of Zeekr in this region. These are the people who chose Zeekr early and have grown with us, and a day on track is how we celebrate them and the journey we are on together.”

Since launching in 2021, Zeekr says it has delivered more than 800,000 vehicles globally across a range that now spans ten models in more than 40 markets. The 9X is expected to go on sale in the UAE later in 2026, with timing still to be confirmed. Pre-bookings opened at the event through an on-site configurator and remain available through Zeekr UAE channels.
