Dubai-based ride-hailing platform Zed has introduced a cashback rewards feature tied to a new in-app digital wallet, offering 15 per cent back on every eligible ride up to AED 20 per journey.
The wallet, now live across Dubai for both taxi and premium categories, credits cashback automatically after each trip. Riders can apply accumulated earnings toward future journeys on the platform. The company says the feature is available to new and existing users.
Zed is positioning the 15 per cent rate as above what competing ride-hailing platforms currently offer in the market, though it attributes that claim to its own assessment rather than an independent benchmark.
“As a homegrown platform, we want commuters to feel recognized and connected to something bigger than just transport. The Zed Wallet and earning initiative were built to reward the movement that powers Dubai itself. That is what makes this more than just cashback, it is a mobility ecosystem designed around the people who keep the city running,” Badr Al Ghurair, CEO of Zed said in a statement.
“Everyday commuting in Dubai happens at enormous scale, but very few mobility platforms are designed to actively reward that behaviour. We wanted to simplify the ride-hailing loyalty process entirely. With the Zed Wallet, the value earned becomes immediate and visible after every journey. That changes the psychology of commuting because the ride itself starts working for the rider,” Abhinav Patwa, Executive Vice President and Head of Zed added.
The launch is branded around the campaign tagline “Ride. Earn 15%. Repeat.” Zed describes the wallet as the foundation of a longer-term rewards ecosystem rather than a standalone promotion.
