The White House launched Trump TV on Monday, a round-the-clock YouTube channel billed as a destination for the Trump administration’s “biggest moments,” opening with footage of President Trump speaking at Mount Rushmore on July 3.
The stream, titled “Trump TV: The Essentials Station,” went live at 7 p.m. Its YouTube description promised “top videos, major remarks, and must-see highlights streaming 24/7 and updated in real time.”
On X, the White House added a sharper edge to the pitch: “Not every big moment has made it on your TV, now it can.” The stream is also embedded on the White House website, alongside a “White House Live” window that was listed as “Off Air” at launch, with a chyron running official updates and statements praising Trump’s record.
Whether Trump TV will carry live events featuring the president remains unclear. A promotional video aired earlier on Monday on the White House’s YouTube channel, using clips from Seinfeld, Family Guy, and The Dark Knight cut to The Buggles’s Video Killed the Radio Star.
The launch came days after Trump banned reporters from CNN, Politico, and MSNBC from White House access, citing what he described as years of fake news coverage.
“You get sick of it,” he told reporters in the Oval Office, adding that there was no specific reason for the timing beyond it being “really just cumulative stories over the last two years.”
All three outlets filed a joint lawsuit against the administration on Monday, saying it was filed “to protect our First Amendment rights and defend the principle that the government does not decide what the press reports or publishes.”
