WHOOP has launched an Arabic-language version of its app across the GCC, making its sleep, recovery, strain, and health insights available in Arabic for the first time. The rollout is supported by an out-of-home and digital campaign across the region.

The company said GCC memberships grew more than 75 per cent year-over-year, citing the region as one of its most significant global growth markets. To support that expansion, WHOOP has opened a dedicated UAE office and is building out its retail distribution network across the Gulf.

Later this year, WHOOP will open its first international performance research and development facility outside its Boston headquarters, based in Qatar through WHOOP Qatar. The facility is intended to deepen the company’s work on health and human performance in the region.

“The response to WHOOP across the Middle East has been incredible. The GCC has become a major market for us, and we’re seeing strong growth across the broader Middle East and North Africa. We’ve made a significant commitment the region and we’re going to keep investing here. Launching in Arabic is a crucial part of that strategy,” Will Ahmed, Founder and CEO of WHOOP said in a statement.

WHOOP’s regional profile includes partnerships with UAE Team Emirates-XRG cycling team, Al Nassr Football Club, the Dubai Fitness Challenge, and the Doha Marathon.

The Arabic launch also follows through on a commitment tied to Mubadala Investment Company’s participation in WHOOP’s Series G funding round.

As part of that partnership, WHOOP agreed to strengthen its presence in the UAE and advance preventative health, research, and innovation across the region.
