Air Arabia suspends UAE flights and regional routes amid disruptions
Air Arabia has announced the temporary suspension of flights to and from the UAE until 3:00pm (UAE time) on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Services to Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq are suspended until March 5, 2026.
The airline said a limited number of flights may operate in coordination with relevant authorities and subject to safety and operational approvals.
Passengers booked on flights that proceed will be contacted directly, while others are advised not to travel to the airport unless notified by the airline.
Customers are encouraged to check their flight status on Air Arabia’s website and monitor their email for updates.
Those who booked directly with the airline and are due to depart within 24 hours can use the website to review alternative options, while passengers who booked through travel agents should contact them directly.
Air Arabia also urged customers to ensure their contact details are up to date via the “Manage Booking” section online.
The airline noted it is handling a high volume of enquiries and thanked customers for their patience, stressing that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority.

Qatar intercepts majority of missiles and drones amid Iranian attacks
Qatar’s Ministry of Defence released a summary detailing the attacks recorded since the start of what it described as Iranian aggression, stating that multiple aerial and missile threats were detected and that most were successfully intercepted.
The ministry said its forces shot down two SU-24 fighter jets, three cruise missiles, 98 of 101 ballistic missiles, and 24 of 39 drones. It reaffirmed that the Qatar Armed Forces have the full capability and resources to protect the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to respond decisively to any external threat.

UAE rejects Bloomberg claims about its defensive capabilities
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has firmly denied what it described as false and misleading reports published by Bloomberg concerning the United Arab Emirates’ advanced defence capabilities.
It said the claims are baseless and misrepresent the country’s high level of preparedness, technological advancement, and operational readiness, stressing the need for responsible journalism and verification with official sources before publishing inaccurate information.
The ministry stated that the UAE operates diverse, integrated, and multi-layered air defence systems capable of addressing a wide range of aerial threats with strong efficiency, including long-, medium-, and short-range systems that provide comprehensive protection of national airspace.
It also highlighted that the UAE maintains a substantial strategic stockpile of munitions to ensure sustained interception and response capabilities over extended periods, while preserving full operational readiness to protect national security and sovereignty.
The ministry reaffirmed that the country’s defence capabilities and national security framework remain strong and uncompromised, with the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remaining a top priority.

Dubai allows trucks on most roads 24/7 until March 4
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police General Headquarters have announced that trucks will be allowed to operate on all roads across the emirate around the clock until Wednesday evening, March 4, 2026.
The move is intended to support the logistics sector and maintain smooth supply chain operations throughout Dubai.
However, the exemption does not apply to Airport Tunnel and Al Shindagha Tunnel, where existing traffic restrictions will remain in effect to ensure road safety and steady traffic flow along these key routes.
Authorities confirmed that normal truck restrictions will resume on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in line with established regulations.
They also urged truck drivers and transport companies to follow traffic rules and cooperate with officials to uphold road safety and ensure smooth traffic movement across the emirate.

The Kuwaiti Army General Staff announced Monday that the armed forces are intercepting a new wave of missiles and drones detected in the country’s airspace.
In a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency, the General Staff affirmed its full readiness to confront any threats to safeguard Kuwait’s territory and airspace, as well as protect citizens and residents.
