The UAE welcomed 2026 with UAE displays and light shows across the country after midnight on New Year‘s Eve, drawing residents, tourists, and Emiratis to document the events.
In Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba recorded attendance numbers as fireworks combined with heritage presentations. The Saadiyat district and the Corniche hosted gatherings and pyrotechnic displays, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) said in a statement.

Dubai presented shows at Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai, where laser technology was integrated with fireworks. Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, and Global Village held celebrations.
Sharjah’s waterfronts, Ras Al Khaimah’s launch platforms, Ajman, Umm Al Qaiwain, and Fujairah hosted fireworks displays across their locations.
Authorities implemented traffic and security plans to manage visitors across routes and event areas. Patrols, civil defence teams, and ambulance services were deployed, with monitoring technologies in operation to maintain safety during the celebrations.
The public followed guidelines during the events, according to authorities managing the celebrations.
