The UAE has strongly condemned what it described as a hostile Iranian attack on the country, after a drone was intercepted by air defence systems over UAE territorial waters.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack constitutes a dangerous escalation, an unacceptable act of aggression, and a direct threat to the UAE’s security, stability, and territorial integrity, in violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The UAE said it will not tolerate any threat to its security or sovereignty under any circumstances, and that it reserves the full and legitimate right to respond to the attacks in a manner that protects its sovereignty, national security, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens, residents, and visitors.
The Ministry held Iran fully responsible for the attacks and their repercussions, and called for an immediate halt to hostilities and full compliance with any cessation of hostilities. The statement described the attack as “unequivocally condemned and rejected under all legal and humanitarian norms.”
No date was visible on the document. The statement was issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
