Sharjah will convert truck toll gates into electronic gates known as “Masaar” following a resolution issued by the Sharjah Executive Council.
The resolution aims to regulate truck movement, facilitate crossing procedures, enhance traffic flow, and improve the efficiency of the transport system. It also supports traffic safety and digital service delivery in the Emirate.
The decision was issued during a Sharjah Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday at the Ruler’s Office.
Masaar system to regulate truck movement in Sharjah
The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), and attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of SEC.
During the meeting, the Council discussed a number of topics related to reviewing the performance of government departments and agencies, alongside legislation and laws aimed at developing government work systems, improving institutional performance, and enhancing the quality of services provided in Sharjah.
Correctional institution draft law approved in Sharjah
The Council also approved a draft law on the organisation of the Correctional and Punitive Institution in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The draft law sets out the institution’s policy, provides for specialised programmes linked to security and reform, and includes provisions to preserve the dignity of inmates and protect their rights.
The Council directed that the draft law be referred to the Sharjah Consultative Council to complete its legislative process.
