Sharjah Executive Council introduces vehicle impound regulations with daily fee system

The Council introduced rules about how vehicles are impounded in Sharjah. The rules set fees that will improve the services offered to the public and ensure regulations around impounding vehicles are followed.

The measures aim to protect rights while supporting efforts to manage traffic violations and make work at vehicle impound facilities more efficient to safeguard public and private property.

The decision allows vehicle owners or anyone with rights over the vehicle to request a replacement for the time their vehicle is impounded. They can pay a daily fee to get their vehicle back sooner, rather than waiting the entire time it would normally be held. The decision outlines when to start counting daily fees based on why the vehicle was taken.

New towing fee structure announced for Sharjah

The SEC’s newly announced rules about towing fees in Sharjah further address vehicles that have broken down due to accidents or those that need to be taken by authorities.

The goal is to transport these vehicles using technology, which will improve safety on the roads and reduce the chances of accidents or traffic jams caused by stranded vehicles.

Moreover, the Executive Council approved an agreement with taxi companies in the emirate to improve the transportation system. The goal is to provide services to the public, ensuring customer satisfaction while making public transportation safer and more comfortable.

The agreement aims to create standards for operations and oversight, aligning with plans to enhance the public transportation system in Sharjah. It will encourage private companies to play a role in supporting development and improving the transportation infrastructure.
