Emirates has announced a series of aircraft deployments and product upgrades across its network, extending the reach of Premium Economy and delivering what it described as a more consistent experience for customers.
As part of its ongoing retrofit programme, the airline said it will complete the upgrade of its first high-density, two-class A380 by mid-April. The aircraft will be reconfigured into a three-class layout featuring 76 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats and 437 Economy Class seats.
The first upgraded aircraft will operate flights EK903/904 between Dubai and Amman from April 14 to May 31. It will then move to Prague on EK139/140 from June 1.
Emirates adds Premium Economy to New York, Zurich, Milan routes
By November, Emirates said it expects to have retrofitted all 15 of its two-class A380s into the new three-class configuration.
In North America, from April 1, flights EK201/202 to New York JFK will be served by a four-class retrofitted A380 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The service will increase to daily from June 1.
In Switzerland, from March 1, Emirates will operate a four-class A380 featuring Premium Economy on flights EK085/086 to Zurich. The airline said it will offer more than 1,500 weekly seats in Premium Economy to and from Zurich.
In Italy, flights EK101/102 to Milan will be operated with a retrofitted, three-class Boeing 777-200LR fitted with Premium Economy from May 10.
Emirates to offer Premium Economy on all Dublin flights
In Ireland, flights EK165/166 to Dublin will be operated with a three-class retrofitted Boeing 777-200LR from 25 October. Once deployed, all 21 weekly flights to Dublin will offer Premium Economy.
In Vietnam, from May 1, flights EK392/393 to Ho Chi Minh City will be operated with a three-class retrofitted Boeing 777-200LR. Emirates said it will offer more than 600 weekly seats in Premium Economy to and from Ho Chi Minh City on double daily flights.
In Hong Kong, flights EK382/383 will be upgraded from a Boeing 777-300ER to an A380 from October 1. From December 1, the route will transition to a retrofitted A380 fitted with Premium Economy.
Emirates will also deploy a three-class A380 on flights EK362/363 between Dubai and Guangzhou from October 1, offering seats in First, Business and Economy Class.
In Uganda, flights EK729/730 to Entebbe will be operated with the new A350 from March 29.
Emirates rolls out retrofitted aircraft on Basra, Mauritius routes
In Iraq, flights EK945/946 to Basra will be operated with a retrofitted four-class Boeing 777-300ER from May 1. Premium Economy will be available across all five weekly flights to Basra.
In Mauritius, Emirates will operate a retrofitted three-class Boeing 777-200LR on flights EK709/710 from March 29.
