Dubai Police continues to increase patrols and awareness efforts across the city to help reduce accidents. Dubai’s population reached around 8.55 million people in 2024.
Last year, 157 people lost their lives in traffic accidents. The causes included sudden swerving, not leaving a safe distance, negligence, stopping in the middle of the road, and running red lights.
The Traffic Department ran awareness campaigns that reached more than twenty million people through digital and field channels. Social media content recorded more than 1.8 billion views in 2024.
Dubai Police has activated integration with traffic systems in Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The system enables information exchange and traffic violation processing between the UAE and neighbouring states.
