Careem has announced the launch of a Tip Matching feature that will double customer tips for delivery and ride-hailing Captains across the UAE during Ramadan.

The initiative, running from February 18 to March 19, will see the company match every customer tip of AED10 or more at no cost to the customer. The matched amount will be sent directly to Captains’ Careem Pay accounts.

The feature covers Careem rides, Hala Taxi trips booked through the app, and orders placed on Careem Food, Quik, Shops, or Box. Careem has partnered with Hala for the initiative.

“Captains are the heartbeat of Careem. They serve our communities with relentless dedication, often while fasting during Ramadan. This year, we are doubling the impact of our customers’ kindness: 100% of every tip goes directly to our Captains, and Careem will match it dirham-for-dirham. Rooted in our value of being ‘Generous,’ this initiative is a tangible way to honor the spirit of the Holy Month and improve the lives of our captains,” Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and co-founder of Careem said in a statement.
