Sharjah Charity International has inaugurated a package of healthcare, education, water and housing projects in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, with a combined value exceeding AED9 million. The delegation, headed by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, oversaw openings across both countries on a visit funded through donor contributions to the Al Reeh Al Mursala programme, broadcast by Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
In Tajikistan, the delegation opened the Al Reeh Al Mursala Dispensary, which is designed to serve around 4,000 beneficiaries, alongside Al Muhsineen School with capacity for 240 students, and the Shamsa Al Serkal Orphanage for 104 children.
The centrepiece of the Tajikistan component is Shamsa Al Serkal Village, built at a cost of AED2.7 million for 25 families. The development includes 25 equipped homes, a four-classroom school, a medical dispensary, an electricity transformer, a 120-metre-deep artesian well with a water tank and distribution network, and a set of income-generating projects for resident families.
In Kyrgyzstan, the delegation inaugurated a 12-room medical dispensary serving more than 25,000 beneficiaries and a 15-kilometre water network reaching 700 families.
Additional openings included a medical clinic serving 3,000 beneficiaries, Salat AlKhair School built at AED1.4 million with seven classrooms for 196 students, and the Sahab Al Khair water network serving around 4,000 beneficiaries.
The National Hospital also received advanced eye-surgery equipment valued at AED2.3 million. The delegation separately inspected a previously completed eye clinic in Kyrgyzstan built at a cost of AED2 million, and Al Reeh Al Mursala School in Tajikistan, which supports more than 384 students.
Sheikh Saqr said the projects show how donor contributions are converted into initiatives that address healthcare, education, water, housing and social needs in communities that lack basic services, adding that the value of the work extends beyond construction to the ongoing services delivered to beneficiaries.
Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, said the inaugurations reflected the reach of community charitable giving and demonstrated “how charitable giving reaches families and communities around the world.”
