Saudi Arabia‘s Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company, has announced the launch of King Salman Gate in Makkah.
The development will span up to 12 million square metres gross floor area next to AlMasjid AlHaram. The project represents a milestone in the development of Makkah and its central area, establishing it as a benchmark in city planning.
“King Salman Gate’s urban development and infrastructure transformation will contribute to enhancing access to AlMasjid AlHaram, elevating service quality, and enriching every visitor’s journey, in alignment with the goals of the Pilgrim Experience Program,” according to the announcement.

The development is located next to AlMasjid AlHaram and will offer residential, hospitality, commercial and cultural facilities. The project will provide capacity for around 900,000 indoor and outdoor praying spaces.
King Salman Gate will connect to public transportation networks to ensure access and comfort. The development will blend Makkah’s architectural heritage with living standards and will restore and develop approximately 19,000 square metres of heritage sites to preserve the city’s cultural and historical legacy.
The project will generate more than 300,000 jobs by 2036, contributing to Saudi Vision 2030’s goals of transformation.
