Kuwait Airways flights resumed operations from Kuwait International Airport’s T4 terminal Wednesday, following the completion of damage assessments and safety checks by technical teams and relevant authorities in the wake of the Iranian drone and missile strike on the T1 passenger building.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a formal condemnation of Iran’s ongoing missile and drone attacks, confirming that one person was killed and others injured in the latest strikes, which also damaged vital facilities including diplomatic missions. Kuwait International Airport was among the targets hit in the early morning attack.
The ministry described the attacks as a flagrant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026, and said Iran’s repeated aggression constituted an organized and deliberate campaign that Kuwait would neither accept nor tolerate.
Kuwait declared the security of its territory, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents a red line, and reserved the right to take all appropriate measures in response to what it called Iran’s sinful and repeated acts of aggression.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Iranian missile and drone strikes on Bahrain, describing the attacks as a blatant violation of Bahraini sovereignty, a breach of international law, and a threat to the kingdom’s security, stability, and civilian infrastructure.
The UAE expressed full solidarity with Bahrain and pledged support for all measures taken to safeguard its security and stability.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning the Iranian missile and drone strikes on Kuwait, acknowledging that the attacks killed one person, injured others, and caused damage to vital infrastructure including Kuwait International Airport and diplomatic missions.
The ministry described the strikes as a blatant violation of Kuwaiti sovereignty and international law, and specifically condemned the targeting of diplomatic missions and premises as a breach of all international norms and conventions, including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. It warned that such attacks represented a serious escalation and a threat to regional security and stability.
The UAE reaffirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait and pledged support for all measures taken to protect its security and stability.
UAE Presidential Adviser Anwar Gargash called for a firm and united Gulf stance in response to repeated Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, stressing that no Gulf state should be left to face such threats alone.
Gargash emphasised that the security, interests, and fate of all Arab Gulf states are interconnected, and that Iranian aggression was not directed at any single country but at the region as a whole.
The foreign ministers of Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia jointly condemned Israeli settler raids into Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, carried out under the protection of Israeli forces, as well as the raising of the Israeli flag within its courtyards. The ministers described the actions as a flagrant violation of international law, UN resolutions, and the historical and legal status quo at the holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem.
The ministers also condemned what they characterized as systematic Israeli measures aimed at altering the historical, legal, and demographic character of occupied East Jerusalem and undermining the sanctity of its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
The joint statement reaffirmed their rejection of any attempts to change the status quo in Jerusalem, recognized Jordan’s Hashemite custodianship over the holy sites, and stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims, with the Jordanian-affiliated Jerusalem Endowments and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department holding sole legal authority over its administration and access.
The Bahrain Defence Force announced that air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed three missiles and a number of drones launched by Iran in what it described as a systematic and deliberate campaign targeting civilian infrastructure in the kingdom.
The BDF stated that all weapons and units remain at the highest levels of combat readiness to defend the country, and urged the public to avoid touching or approaching any suspicious debris left over from the attack, reporting any such objects immediately. The Royal Field Engineering unit was said to be fully prepared to handle such objects safely.
The BDF condemned the use of missiles and drones against civilian targets as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
Kuwait’s General Civil Aviation Authority activated its emergency plan at Kuwait International Airport following the drone and missile strike on the T1 passenger terminal, which caused severe damage to airport facilities and resulted in a number of injuries.
All flights have been suspended and diverted to alternative airports until further notice.

Separately, CENTCOM forces shot down three Iranian one-way attack drones that had been launched toward civilian vessels transiting regional waters.
No US personnel were reported injured. CENTCOM stated its forces remain on alert against Iranian aggression as the ceasefire continues.
American military forces stopped a Botswana-flagged oil tanker, the M/T Lexie, from reaching Iran’s Kharg Island on June 2, after its crew ignored repeated warnings over a 24-hour period. A US aircraft fired a Hellfire missile into the vessel’s engine room, disabling it in international waters.
The incident was part of CENTCOM’s ongoing maritime blockade of Iranian ports, which has been in effect since April 13. Since then, US forces have disabled six commercial vessels and redirected 122 others, as a ceasefire with Iran remains in place.
