The UAE’s Supreme Council for National Security has announced a change to the alert sounds used by the National Early Warning System.
Between 9:00am and 10:30pm, a high-pitched tone will signal an alert, with a standard text message tone marking its end.
Between 10:30pm and 9:00am, a standard text message tone will be used for both the alert and the all-clear.
The system will remain fully operational around the clock, and the public is urged to follow all official instructions issued alongside any alert.

The Israeli Air Force has carried out a broad wave of strikes simultaneously targeting Iranian regime infrastructure across three areas – Tehran, Isfahan, and southern Iran.
UAE air defences detected 15 ballistic missiles on March 9, destroying 12 while three fell into the sea. Of 18 drones detected, 17 were intercepted and one came down within the country’s territory.
Since the start of the Iranian offensive, the UAE has detected 253 ballistic missiles – destroying 233, with 18 falling into the sea and two landing on UAE territory.
A total of 1,440 drones have been detected, of which 1,359 were intercepted and 81 fell within the country. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.
The attacks have resulted in four deaths – involving Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationals – and 117 minor injuries among individuals of 26 nationalities including Emirati, Egyptian, Filipino, Indian, and Palestinian, among others.
The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed that it remains on high alert and fully prepared to confront any threat to the country’s security, sovereignty, and stability.

It also rejected Iran’s claim that it had no plans to attack neighbouring countries, noting that Iranian strikes continued regardless, based on what Saudi Arabia called unfounded pretexts – including the false allegation that Saudi fighter jets and tanker aircraft had participated in the war.
The Kingdom clarified that its aircraft are solely conducting air patrols to protect Saudi and GCC airspace from Iranian missiles and drones.
Saudi Arabia warned that the ongoing Iranian attacks represent a serious escalation with lasting implications for bilateral relations, adding that Iran’s current conduct serves neither wisdom nor its own interests, and that any further widening of the conflict would ultimately harm Iran the most.
The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi has temporarily shut its doors to visitors in line with national security advisories, with the closure remaining in effect until further notice.
