Oil prices edged lower on Friday, giving back some of the previous session’s gains after both major benchmarks hit their highest levels in a week.

Brent crude fell 74 cents, or 0.69 per cent, to $105.85 a barrel as of 00:32 GMT. West Texas Intermediate dropped 81 cents, or 0.86 per cent, to $93.80 a barrel.

Thursday’s session had been notably stronger: Brent settled up 3.4 per cent, while WTI gained 2.7 per cent.
