Oil prices are tracking toward their best weekly performance in some time, with Brent crude set to close the week around 6% higher despite a modest retreat in early trading on Friday.
Brent futures fell six cents, or 0.08%, to $76.24 a barrel in early deals. US West Texas Intermediate shed four cents, or 0.06%, to $72.04 a barrel.
On a weekly basis, Brent is heading for a gain of 6%, while WTI is up around 5%.
