Mubadala Investment Company and Together AI have announced a strategic partnership to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure and ecosystem opportunities in the UAE, with Together AI committing to establish a local office in Abu Dhabi.
The collaboration builds on Mubadala’s US$100 million participation in Together AI’s Series C financing round, which closed on July 1, 2026. The partnership will see the two organisations work to identify opportunities supporting the development and deployment of AI across the UAE and the wider region, with Together AI bringing its inference and research capabilities closer to regional developers.
Founded in San Francisco in 2022, Together AI operates a full-stack AI platform covering inference, model shaping, and accelerated compute. Its platform is built around open-source and custom models, positioning it as infrastructure for developers and enterprises that want to build and operate AI applications without being locked into proprietary systems.

Together AI’s decision to establish an office in Abu Dhabi will deepen its engagement with the UAE’s rapidly developing technology ecosystem that creates long-term economic value for the emirate and the wider UAE,” Ali Eid AlMheiri, Executive Director, Diversified Assets, UAE Investments Platform at Mubadala said in a statement.
Together AI’s founder and CEO, Vipul Ved Prakash, pointed to a supply-demand imbalance in open-source AI as the driver behind the expansion. “The demand for open-source AI is outpacing the compute available to serve it. Developers want open models because they can own, shape and deploy them however they want, but that only works if the infrastructure underneath is fast, efficient, and actually there when you need it. We’re scaling that infrastructure globally, and Mubadala is exactly the kind of partner that helps us do it at speed.”
For Mubadala, the deal sits within its ongoing effort to build sovereign AI capabilities across the value chain and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a hub for applied innovation.
