Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has written an open letter to supporters following media reports on Friday about the club’s ongoing Premier League disciplinary proceedings, insisting nothing has changed and that the club remains confident it will be cleared.
“The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began,” Khaldoon wrote in the letter, published on the club’s website on September 26, 2026.
The chairman, who said he has been part of the club for 18 years, acknowledged that supporters had faced questions from friends and family after Friday’s reporting. He pointed fans to two formal club statements – one issued the same day and one dating back to February 2023 – saying “every word matters and holds true.”
In Friday’s statement, the club said the Premier League process “remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality.”
It added that Manchester City had “diligently respected due process for eight years” on the basis that the Premier League would act as an independent and impartial regulator.
Khaldoon said legal constraints prevented him from sharing more. “There are so many things that I would like to be able to share with you to help you understand why we feel so confident in our position,” he wrote, noting that even the letter itself had undergone several legal checks before publication.
He closed by pointing to upcoming fixtures as moments for the club’s supporters to rally around, including a trip to Anfield and a home Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain after the international break.
