England have advanced to the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup after Harry Kane scored twice in the final quarter of a match in Atlanta, turning around a game the DRC had led since the seventh minute.
Bryan Mbemba Sébinga gave the DRC an early lead, but England’s captain levelled in the 75th minute before adding the winner in the 86th to seal a 2-1 victory in the round of 32.
England will now face Mexico on 6 July at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
