IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with Kleek Development for a new Crowne Plaza hotel in Sixth Settlement, New Cairo, with the property scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2031.

Kleek Development is a joint venture between Emaar Al Delta for Contracting and Real Estate Investment and Modern Style Home Real Estate Company.

The 250-key hotel will include four dining venues, six meetings and events spaces with a dedicated ballroom, and leisure facilities covering a swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, and retail areas.

“New Cairo is evolving rapidly, with continued investment in businesses, communities and infrastructure strengthening its position as an increasingly important commercial destination. That growth is creating new reasons to travel to this part of the city and, in turn, greater demand for high quality, internationally branded hotels that can serve both business and leisure guests. Crowne Plaza is particularly well suited to this market because today’s guests rarely separate work and downtime as they once did. They want a hotel that gives them the flexibility to work, connect with colleagues, and switch off – all within the same stay. Crowne Plaza New Cairo has been planned with exactly that in mind and we’re pleased to be working with Emaar Al Delta to bring the brand to this growing part of Cairo,” Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG Hotels & Resorts said in a statement.

“We are pleased to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts for Crowne Plaza New Cairo, a development that reflects our confidence in one of the capital’s most dynamic and fast-growing districts. New Cairo continues to attract strong interest from residents, businesses, and visitors, and we see a clear opportunity to create a high-quality destination that responds to that momentum. With IHG’s global expertise and the strength of the Crowne Plaza brand, we look forward to delivering a hotel that will become a valued part of this growing community,” Eng. Hussein Dawoud, CEO, Kleek Development added.

IHG currently operates 10 hotels in Egypt and has 28 more in the pipeline, making Egypt one of the company’s stated strategic growth markets in the region.
