Gold rose for a fourth consecutive session on Thursday, reaching its highest point in seven weeks as a weaker dollar and falling US Treasury yields drew buyers back to the metal.
Spot gold gained 1% to $4,285.69 per ounce by 00:35 GMT, a level not seen since 18 June. US gold futures advanced 0.9% to $4,345.50 per ounce.
The 10-year US Treasury yield edged lower while the dollar came under pressure, improving gold’s appeal for investors holding other currencies.
Among other precious metals, silver rose 0.4% to $62.34 per ounce, platinum gained 0.8% to $1,750.15, and palladium climbed 1% to $1,377 per ounce.
