A flydubai flight from Dubai International Airport to Ben Gurion International Airport was diverted to Tabuk in Saudi Arabia on September 30 after a security incident on board, the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority said on Wednesday.
Flight FZ1073 made an emergency landing at Tabuk Airport after the incident was brought under control. Several crew members sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital in Saudi Arabia for treatment. Passenger injuries were not mentioned in the GCAA’s statement.
The authority said its investigation teams, working alongside relevant authorities, are examining the operational and security aspects of the incident to determine its causes and circumstances.
The GCAA urged the public not to circulate unofficial information ahead of the investigation’s findings, saying results would be shared once they are available.
