Botim has partnered with Mastercard to introduce the Mastercard One Credential to UAE cardholders, linking a single card to multiple funding sources and allowing users to switch between prepaid balances and credit without carrying separate cards.
The launch is the first deployment of the One Credential product in the UAE and across the Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. Eligible Botim cardholders can access funds across multiple currencies and convert purchases into installments, with the companies describing it as a first step in a broader product roadmap rather than a standalone release.
The move draws on consumer appetite for consolidated payment options. Mastercard’s own global consumer research found that 83% of UAE consumers surveyed said they would use card installments through One Credential. The research also pointed to demand for bringing multiple payment options together in a single interface.
“At Botim, we believe financial services should improve how people access and manage everyday financial lives. Our work with Mastercard reflects a shared commitment to fostering greater choice, transparency, and confidence in digital payments. By bringing this capability to Botim cardholders, we are providing a more practical and trusted way to pay, while continuing to build a platform that can support long-term financial participation and create sustainable value,” Dr. Tariq BinHendi, Board Member at Astra Tech and CEO of Botim said in a statement.
“Consumers increasingly expect payment experiences that are secure, simple, and embedded in their everyday digital lives. By combining Mastercard’s One Credential technology with Botim’s digital platform, we are simplifying how cardholders access and manage different payment methods through one scalable solution. Equally important, One Credential also demonstrates how solutions can be implemented quickly and efficiently in markets, supporting our partners’ efforts in launching new solutions,” Gina Petersen-Skyrme, senior vice president and country manager, UAE and Oman at Mastercard added.
The current launch covers a prepaid and installment proposition. Both companies say further Botim card products and payment use cases are planned under the collaboration.
