Emirates is adding four weekly flights between Dubai and Accra from 12 July 2026, bringing its total service on the route to 11 flights per week. The expansion responds to what the airline describes as year-round high seat occupancy on the Ghana route.

The new service, operating as EK789/EK790, will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flights depart Dubai at 03:30 and arrive in Accra at 07:40; the return departs Accra at 10:25 and lands in Dubai at 22:40. All times are local. The aircraft type is the Boeing 777-300ER, configured with 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class lie-flat seats and 304 Economy seats.

The schedule is designed to open onward connections in both directions. From Accra, travellers gain access to Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York JFK and Jeddah. Inbound, the new frequency adds a more convenient option for passengers connecting from Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles and various gateways across Germany and the UK.

“For more than two decades, Emirates has proudly connected Ghana to the world. The introduction of this additional service demonstrates our continued confidence in the Ghanaian market and our commitment to supporting the country’s growing travel needs. Beyond providing greater convenience for our customers, this expansion will strengthen business, tourism and trade links between Ghana and key markets across our global network, while contributing to the continued growth of Ghana’s aviation sector. Through Dubai, travellers will enjoy seamless access to close to 140 destinations worldwide, while visitors from around the world will have even greater opportunities to experience Ghana,” Salem Almana, Emirates’ Country Manager, Ghana said in a statement.

The additional flights also carry implications for cargo. Emirates SkyCargo uses the route to move fresh cut fruit from Ghana into European destinations including Prague and Zurich, alongside electronics, textiles and pharmaceuticals. The extra bellyhold capacity in both directions will support those flows.
