The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is preparing to welcome Eid Al Fitr 2026 with a programme of festivals, entertainment shows and family-oriented activities across its seven emirates, as shopping centres, hotels and leisure destinations roll out programmes for the occasion.
Retail activity has risen in the run-up to the UAE holiday, with residents purchasing clothing, sweets and gifts amid seasonal promotions that have driven an increase in footfall across shopping centres nationwide, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
In Abu Dhabi, a range of events for families and children will take place over the holiday period. The Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, which has been running since November, continues to serve as the centrepiece of Abu Dhabi’s cultural calendar, featuring thousands of cultural and public events with participation from countries around the world.

In Al Ain, the second edition of the “Ghaitah Al Ain” festival will run from March 20 to 27 at ADNEC Al Ain. The event will offer live performances, cultural shows and activities for visitors across all age groups.
Abu Dhabi’s portfolio of attractions during the holiday includes the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Al Maqta’a Museum, Heritage Village, Saadiyat Cultural District and the leisure facilities on Yas Island.
Dubai has put together a series of entertainment events and experiences for families during the Eid period, alongside retail promotions in its shopping malls and hotel packages.
Among the citywide events is “Season of Wulfa”, which continues until March 23. Expo City Dubai will host its own Eid celebrations from March 20 to 22.
In Sharjah, the “Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2026” will continue through the holiday, combining retail offers with cultural and heritage experiences. The festival features participation from local and international brands, entrepreneurs and small businesses.
The emirate offers a range of leisure, nature and cultural destinations, among them Khorfakkan Amphitheater and Waterfall, Al Suhub Rest House, Al Heera Beach, Arabia’s Wildlife Centre, Al Jada, Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Montazah Parks and Al Qasba.
Ajman is home to a number of heritage attractions, including Ajman Museum, which dates to the 18th century and holds a collection of artefacts, manuscripts and traditional costumes.
Umm Al Qaiwain offers leisure options including Dreamland Aqua Park, as well as aviation, shooting and marine clubs and equestrian facilities.
Ras Al Khaimah has completed preparations ahead of the holiday, offering visitors a range of experiences including Jebel Jais Flight – described as one of the longest zip lines in the world – along with Al Hamra Golf Club, Dhayah Fort and the emirate’s beaches.
Fujairah remains a destination for Eid holiday visitors, with the Fujairah Corniche, Madhab Spring Park and Wadi Wurayah among its offerings. The emirate’s hotel and resort options continue to grow, with beachfront properties available in Al Aqah.
