Al Ain Zoo has announced it will offer visitors the chance to explore its facilities as cooler temperatures are forecast across the UAE for the next two weeks.
The zoo, located in Al Ain, houses more than 4,000 animals and is one of the oldest and largest in the Middle East. Recent additions and upgrades have expanded the visitor experience.
A new gorilla habitat has opened, designed and built to reflect the African environment. The facility allows visitors to observe the animals while learning about conservation efforts at the zoo.
Al Ain Zoo announces reopening of hippo, crocodile exhibits
The hippo and crocodile exhibits have reopened following recent work. Visitors can feed giraffes, meet desert eagle owls or encounter lemurs, with animal care experts on hand to provide information.
The Al Ain Safari offers a 45-minute tour through natural habitats. A guide takes up to six guests in a private SUV and shares information about wildlife protection and care.
The zoo has introduced new food and beverage options as part of its upgrades. These facilities allow visitors to take a break during their visit.
The zoo opens daily from 9:00am until 7:00pm. General admission costs AED31.50 for adults and AED10.50 for children aged 3 to 12. Children under 3 enter free. The Al Ain Safari costs AED1,050 for up to six guests.
