Egyptian actress Yousra has begun preparations for her new television series titled “Harem El-Safir” (The Ambassador’s Wife), set to air exclusively on Egypt’s Al-Nahar channel during Ramadan 2026.โ
Alaa El-Kahky, chairman of Al-Nahar television network, announced the collaboration with Yousra during the eighth edition of the Gouna Film Festival, confirming that the series will be a major surprise for audiences.โ
Series Details
“Harem El-Safir” is part of the Ramadan 2026 drama season and presents a social drama storyline filled with human events and narratives. Yousra will portray an aristocratic woman living a luxurious life who faces a series of situations that transform her life’s trajectory.โ
Yousra has recently started preparations for the project, with casting of co-stars and filming locations currently being finalized ahead of production launch in the coming days. Sources previously revealed that filming is scheduled to begin in late November.โ
Return After Two-Year Absence
Yousra’s participation in “Harem El-Safir” marks her return to Ramadan drama after a two-year hiatus. Her last Ramadan drama series was “1000 Hamdalah Ala El-Salamah” (1000 Thank God for Safety), which aired during Ramadan 2023.โ
In that 2023 series, Yousra played Dr. Someha Jahn, a media professor who returns to Egypt from Canada after more than 25 years with her children to search for her family’s identity and recover their inheritance.โ
Upcoming Film Projects
On the cinema front, Yousra has two films awaiting release. The first is “El-Sett Lama”, in which she portrays a feminist woman who confronts various forms of male violence against women, including harassment and psychological and physical abuse.โ
“El-Sett Lama” features an ensemble cast including Majed El-Masry, Yasmin Raeis, Dorra, Amr Abdel-Gelil, Intisar, Dunia Samir, Mahmoud El-Bezawy, Rania Mansour, and Mohamed Anwar, with guest appearances from Hossein Fahmy, Kinda Alloush, Fathi Abdel-Wahab, and Radwa El-Sherbini. The film is written by Cairo Ayman and Mohamed Badawy, directed by Khaled Abu Gharib, and produced by Nada and Rana El-Sobky.โ
The second film is “Banat Faten” (Faten’s Daughters), where Yousra plays the wife of Bassem Samra, with Hoda El-Mufti and Busma Nabil appearing as her daughters. It follows a popular social context and also stars Sudanese actors Mustafa Shehata and Islam Mubarak. The film is written by Amina Mustafa and Mohamed Nader, directed by Mohamed Nader, and produced by Ali Bani Hamed.โ
