Prime Video released first-look images for Young Sherlock, the origin series starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Sherlock Holmes.
Guy Ritchie directs and executive produces the series, which will premiere in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide next year.
The series follows the character’s adventures in an action-laden mystery, Prime Video said in a statement.
Hero Fiennes Tiffin to play Sherlock Holmes in new Prime Video origin series
The series follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective in a re-imagining of the character’s days before he became known. Sherlock Holmes is a man when he finds himself involved in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first case unravels a conspiracy that changes his life.
Fiennes Tiffin, who appeared in the After series, takes on the role of the detective in the series that charts the origin story of Sherlock Holmes.
The series unfolds in 1870s Oxford and includes adventures abroad. The narrative will expose the antics of the adolescent who has yet to evolve into Baker Street’s resident.
Cast members include Dรณnal Finn from The Wheel of Time, Zine Tseng from 3 Body Problem, Joseph Fiennes from The Handmaid’s Tale, Natascha McElhone from Halo, Max Irons from Condor, and Colin Firth from The King’s Speech.
Matthew Parkhill serves as showrunner and executive producer. Executive producers include Dhana Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, and Colin Wilson. Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson serve as co-executive producers.
Motive Pictures led production for Young Sherlock.
Young Sherlock will premiere on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories next year.
