Euphoria will return to HBO in April, more than four years after the Season 2 finale concluded, according to a report by Variety.
Creator Sam Levinson presented a preview of Season 3 at an HBO Max event in London on Wednesday, revealing where the characters are five years after the previous season.
“Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college they’d be out of college at that time,” he explained of where the show picks up. “We basically pick up Rue [Zendaya] south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie [Kelly], trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off.”

Levinson outlined the trajectories of other characters. “And then Cassie [Sydney Sweeney] is living in the suburbs with Nate [Jacob Elordi], they’re engaged and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time,” he said.
He confirmed that Cassie and Nate will marry in the season. “I will say that Cassie and Nate do in fact get married. I’m confirming it. And I promise that it will be an unforgettable night,” Levinson said.
He added: “I feel strongly this is our best season yet.”
Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Colman Domingo will return for Season 3. Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike and Nika King are also back.
Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Melvin Bonez Estes, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson and Zak Steiner will reprise their roles.
Levinson revealed that Jules, played by Schafer, “is in art school, very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs.”
Maddy, played by Demie, “is working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, she’s obviously got her own side hustles going.”
Lexi, played by Apatow, “is an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who is just absolutely delightful and a true icon,” Levinson said.
Euphoria Season 4 to feature new cast members
Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth and Marshawn Lynch will join the series for Season 3, the report said.
Other additions include Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Kadeem Hardison, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert, Anna Van Patten, Asante Blackk, Bella Podaras, Bill Bodner, Cailyn Rice, Colleen Camp, Gideon Adlon, Hemky Madera, Homer Gere, Jack Topalian, Jessica Blair Herman, Kwame Patterson, Madison Thompson, Matthew Willig, Rebecca Pidgeon and Sam Trammell.
Austin Abrams and Algee Smith were not included on HBO’s cast list. Storm Reid stated in November that her character, Rue’s sister Gia, would not appear in Season 3.
Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat, left the series in August 2022. Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, died at age 25 in July 2023.
Euphoria follows a group of teenagers dealing with drug addiction, crime, betrayal and more. The series became HBO’s most-watched series outside of its Game of Thrones and zombie franchises, ranking as the cabler’s fourth most-watched show overall.
