Eagle Hills, the Abu Dhabi-based private real estate investment and development company founded by Mohamed Alabbar, has been selected by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) to redevelop the former Guido Reni Barracks in Rome.

The company is working in partnership with COIMA on the project.

The €400 million redevelopment will transform the 5-hectare site in the Flaminio district. The location sits next to the MAXXI Museum by Zaha Hadid, the Auditorium Parco della Musica by Renzo Piano, and the Palazzetto dello Sport by Pier Luigi Nervi.

“Developing in a city like Rome carries both a tremendous responsibility and a profound privilege. It is about honouring a legacy, listening to a place, and ensuring that what we build enriches people’s lives for generations to come. Through the Guido Reni redevelopment, we aim to create a place that feels authentically Roman, rooted in culture, connected to community, and shaped with care for the future,” Alabbar said in a statement.

The site currently contains 23 former military and industrial buildings. The redevelopment will create a mixed-use neighbourhood featuring residential units, hospitality facilities, retail spaces, and community areas.
