Dubai Municipality’s Director General, Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, has conducted a field visit to the Al Mamzar Corniche Development Project to review construction progress, which has reached 88 per cent completion.
Accompanied by executive leadership, project managers and engineering teams, bin Ghalita assessed construction progress, supply chain resilience and operational readiness at the site.
The Director General received a briefing from the Public Beaches and Waterways Management team, confirming that construction has reached an stage driven by Emirati technical teams and remains on schedule.

It introduces a new generation of integrated coastal destinations that combine architectural excellence, environmental preservation, and climate adaptability, while delivering sustainable social and economic value. This reinforces Dubai’s leadership as a global tourism destination offering exceptional beach and leisure experiences for residents and visitors alike,” bin Ghalita said in a statement.
“The scale of these projects reflects our commitment to delivering integrated coastal destinations that prioritise resilience, safety, and visitor experience. Al Mamzar Corniche: Dubai to open women-only night swimming beach at new coastal destination
Among the features of the development is a beach set aside for women only, which will permit night swimming. The beach will be enclosed by a surrounding fence to ensure privacy and has been designed in line with international standards for safety and privacy.
The project will also include health and service facilities, food and beverage outlets along the beachfront, walking, jogging and cycling tracks, children’s play areas, fitness zones and beach activity spaces. Shaded seating areas will allow use of the site from day into night. The development will also feature a shaded skate park alongside spaces for events and seasonal activities.
As part of measures to address the effects of climate change, the project includes works to raise beach levels and reinforce coastal protection.
More than 500,000 cubic metres of beach sand have been used, based on environmental studies, to improve shoreline stability and support the site’s long-term sustainability.
The project supports the objectives of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the Public Beaches Master Plan, which target a 400% increase in the total length of public beaches across the emirate.
The development forms part of Dubai Municipality‘s efforts to advance public beach infrastructure and strengthen the city’s standing as a destination for beach tourism.
